The Estátuas Vivas no Natal – the Living Statues – came to the streets of Lagoa again this year, much to our delight, and Dave was there to capture them with his camera for you.

Our favourites this year were John Lennon and the Minotauro

Covid meant that the statues were set apart slightly from the crowds, which resulted in the event feeling a little less intimate that usual, but the costumes and poses were as wonderful as ever.
We hope you enjoy the tour:

We were very lucky – we went on the Friday afternoon and we had bright sunshine. Saturday’s forecast was rain rain rain, so they moved the event to inside the Convent.
Thank you to all of the fabulous actors and crew for setting up this event, it really does signal the start of Christmas for us, and after the year we have had, it was lovely to be able to experience something magical.
Here are some more images for you to enjoy:

You can find out more about the Living Statues Company on their Facebook Page and if you type ‘statues’ in the search bar on the right of this page you can view all our previous years’ posts about this fabulous event.
